I am very pleased to say that last month I was awarded a £1000 Business Support Grant by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
The Business Support Grant is intended to support local small business with less than 4 employees to develop and grow their businesses. To qualify you need to demonstrate how you would use the money to help grow your business, such as buying new equipment or investing in some training.
In my case, I have used the grant for two things, firstly to purchase a laptop that I can take to sales pitches, and some money towards PPC advertising on Google and Bing. I was also received some great advice from Cllr Humphreys on how to make the most of networking events.
If you are a local small business and would like to find out more about the Business Grant an all the other ways Reigate & Banstead support local small businesses, I would strongly recommend checking out the business support section of the Reigate & Banstead website.
I would particularly recommend checking out the learning lunches that are held roughly once a month. Not only are the Reigate & Banstead staff extremely welcoming and supportive but they usually draw in a great crowd of people. The top-notch speakers so far this year have included Emma Wootton, founder of thenoodleplan.com, Nicola MacDonald from Attractive Marketing and Emma Turner from My Social Secretary.
I just wanted to finish off by saying a big thank you to Cllr Humphreys, Simon Bland, Cath McDermott, James Chandler and everyone else at Reigate & Banstead for the support they provide to our local small businesses. It makes a huge difference, especially when just starting out.
